What are the Fairy Pools?

The Fairy Pools are a stunning series of waterfalls and clear blue pools on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. They’re one of our country’s most iconic wild swimming and photography spots and a highlight of any visit to Skye.

How long is the walk to the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye?

The walk to and along the Fairy Pools on Skye takes about 75 minutes in total. It’s a scenic trail with small river crossings and magical views the whole way.

Are the Fairy Pools dangerous?

As long as you stay on the paths and wear appropriate footwear, the Fairy Pools are safe to enjoy. The walk to the Fairy Pools includes uneven ground and a few small river crossings, so it isn’t suitable for those with mobility issues. Sturdy footwear is essential.

Can you swim in the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye?

While the water can be inviting, we don’t promote wild swimming on our tours, as we can’t supervise it or ensure guest safety in the pools. Best to enjoy the view and keep your feet dry!

Our itinerary (in tab 2, 'Itinerary & Departure') provides a helpful outline of what to expect on the day. We refrain from providing additional details beyond what's outlined there, as factors like weather, traffic, and the preferences of our driver guides may lead to slight deviations.
