Skye is a journey in itself. Travelling from Edinburgh takes several hours, with scenic Highland landscapes along the way, including a route through places like Glen Coe. From Inverness, the travel time is shorter, which is why we offer both day trips and overnight tours.

Our tours visit some of Skye’s most famous landmarks, including Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Portree. You’ll also enjoy stops at viewpoints and other scenic spots as time and weather allow.

Most stops involve short walks on natural and sometimes uneven ground rather than long hikes. You don’t need walking experience, but sturdy, comfortable shoes are a good idea.

Day tours to Skye cover a lot of ground because of the distance involved. Our longest day tour from Inverness to the Isle of Skye is approximately 12 hours long*. The itinerary is designed to balance travel time with sightseeing stops, giving you the chance to enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed.

The weather in the Highlands can change quickly, so it’s best to bring a waterproof jacket, wear layers, and pack comfortable walking shoes. It'd always handy to bring a day pack with you so you can access a reusable water bottle and snacks along the way.
